Leadership Development

Learning Outcomes
  • Discover Your Strengths
  • Grow Through Peer Groups
  • Put Leadership Into Practice
  • Define Your Leadership Purpose

Leadership Lowndes is more than an opportunity to discover your community. It's an opportunity to discover yourself as a leader.

Through strengths-based assessment, guided leadership development experiences, and meaningful relationships with fellow participants, Leadership Lowndes offers a yearlong journey of personal discovery and growth. Participants explore their natural talents, examine the values that influence their decisions, and become more intentional about how they lead in their careers, organizations, and community.

Strengths Discovery

Every leadership journey begins with self-awareness. Participants complete the CliftonStrengths assessment to identify their natural talents and explore how those strengths influence their leadership style, relationships, and approach to challenges.

Define Your Leadership Purpose

Drawing on their strengths, values, experiences, and reflections throughout the year, participants articulate the principles that guide their leadership, the kind of leader they aspire to become, and the difference they want to make.

Leadership is strengthened through the perspectives of others. Participants join small Leadership Peer Groups informed by their individual strengths, creating opportunities to learn from peers with different backgrounds, experiences, and approaches to leadership.

Leadership in practice

Throughout the year, participants engage in guided activities that encourage them to reflect on their leadership experiences and apply new insights in their everyday lives. These experiences help participants connect what they are learning about themselves with how they communicate, make decisions, build relationships, and contribute to the organizations and communities they serve.

Lifelong impact

The goal isn't simply to become a better leader during Leadership Lowndes. It's to leave with a clearer understanding of who you are, greater confidence in how you lead, and a personal sense of purpose that continues to shape your decisions and actions long after the program concludes.
